Philly Pitchers Meet DROWNING POOL
April 22, 2008Ben Apatoff of MLB.com reports: The Houston Astros were not the only Texas-based group that Phillies pitchers Brett Myers and Brad Lidge encountered at Citizens Bank Park on April 17. Before the game, the two pitchers met with platinum-selling hard rock act DROWNING POOL, whose hit song "Soldiers" is both players' entrance music.
The hirsute, tattooed men of DROWNING POOL, who are self-proclaimed "sports fanatics," stopped by the Phillies' playing field amidst their nationwide headlining tour. While awaiting Lidge and Myers' appearances, the Dallas band talked sports with reporters, citing the Rangers and the Astros as their favorite teams. "Starting this year, we're going to be huge Phillies fans," said bassist Stevie Benton.
